Potato recipes

If there are no potatoes in the house, then there's nothing to eat!

That's what our mothers thought, even though they knew that the potato (from German: Kartoffel) was brought to Europe from South America only about 300 years ago. 300 years ago. Today potatoes are the fifth most important source of calories for modern humans after wheat, corn, rice and barley. Potatoes can be used to make several thousand dishes. Boiled potatoes, baked potatoes, potato casseroles, potato pancakes, mashed potatoes, potato cutlets, potato stew, potato stew, fried potatoes, stuffed potatoes... Edible tubers go well with literally any food: with fish, with meat, with vegetables, with mushrooms, with cheese, with milk, with sour cream, with any sauce, with spicy herbs, even with berries and seafood. Potatoes are served both hot and cold, both as a main dish and as a side dish.
